Busy week.Yesterday it was a solo ride,today a group ride.I'm a member
of a motorcycling associaton here and today they were having a marshal training
session for all riders so that when we go for long rides in a group ,it will be easy
if everyone knows what to do.We met up in PJ again.Had a briefing on what to do
and put it to practice on our ride up into the hills of Genting.

Meet up and top up point.

Since it was a group ride i couldnt stop to take pics of the route.
Suffice to say its one of the better twisties in the capital and a favourite
with most bikers.
Clouds in Genting.

Again ,thats clouds not mist.

After breakfast we came back to our bikes and the place was full.
Lovely.

Left and went back to rest.Been a long week.

Went for a solo ride today to Kuala Klawang to enjoy the hills
and curves peacefully.Turned out to be an eventful day but not in a bad way.
Firstly it was dark skies around my house when i left but the route
i was taking was clear,so off i went. There were a lot of bikers there having
breakfast so i was the first up into the hills.Less traffic that way.
The twisties were great as you are having fun and practising your riding
at the same time. After the twisty bits it started to pour.Hell, i was in the hills
and it rains. On with the raingear and continue riding.Due to the rain and
traffic on the way back i went slow till it cleared up.Total ride time today 4 1/2
hours.Few points-
1. The Airhawk Seat is worth every cent.!!!!!!!!!!
No pain at all.The first post i made ,on the return trip i had to stop every half hour.
Today nothing and i have a group ride tomorrow.Bring it on.
2.Garmin Zumo 550 IS waterproof .Havent checked so far till today.
3.The interphone communicator IS waterproof also.

Start of the route

Nice

Nicer

Virgin jungle

Nice hills. Its 10am but not hot like usual since its going to pour.

My first ever action shot. Thanks to mushpop at superbikemalaysia.com
I'm actually not that fat, its the jacket.Really.

Reached home after the ride and no numb bum.Good purchase.
Cheers.

Bagan Nakhoda Omar is a "beach" spot about 130km from my house
if i take the B roads all the way.I try to find new places to go for every ride
unless the road is so good or technical that you crave to ride it again
and again.eg.. the 'dragon ' in the States and our very own Kuala Klawang
in Malaysia .Anyway today i went north in Selangor ,cruising about 130kmph
till i reached my destination.I didnt stop for road pics as i've got a few from
my very first post when i went even further up north to Lumut.Same route.
The spot is touted as a family picnic area and it was just ok.Nothing great.
But there is no beach to speak of.There are a lot of rocks placed over the tiny beach
to prevent erosion i guess.Spent 15 min there then left. The airhawk seat is
paying its way as on reaching home i was fine.Total distance 260km.

R&R spot-click to enlarge.

Really nice weather to ride.Love the sea.

Food joint and washrooms.

The "beach"

Did i say i love the sea?

halfabusa resting.

When you stop looking at your bike its time to sell it.

Nice day ride .Have to look for new and interesting places next.
Cheers.

07 June 2009

In my very first posting i mentioned having to get a better seat
as the dreaded numb bum attacks were getting to me.Hence i
ordered the airhawk seat from

www.airhawkguy.com.au.

To my great surprise i received my seat within 5 days of ordering it.
Its kind of tricky ,as to get the optimal seating position will take a bit
of trial and error initially. After inflating and deflating it repeatedly
i went for a test run to see if i'll be having scotch and ice after the ride
or ice on another place !!!!!!

For today i went to a neighbouring state to visit a few places of interest.

Another thing i've noticed is that i keep trying to improve my riding ,so i
keep pushing the envelope during my rides .Today i went in search
of motorcycling zen. Slow (relatively) ,smooth and one with the bike
little grasshopper .And what do you know ,a nice relaxed ride is also
fun - go figure.
Total distance today 300km.

The airhawk seat.

My first stop was an old fort on a hill. See the hill ,well
i didn't bother to climb it.Ride yes ,walk no.

But its so far up. Hidden behind the trees.

Then its take the beach road down to my next stop.

Nice huh.

Next stop was supposed to be a light house, and guess what
there was also walking involved.Up a hill. Therefore no pics as
no way i'm walking uphill in full gear.So i stopped at the beach
to cool of and chill for a while.

After the break my third destination was an old tomb with
an even older adjacent "carved rock/megaliths/god only knows what''.
The road through huge tracts of plantations where there was
actually Zen for a while.

Empty and peaceful

My third and final destination was to the aforementioned
POI.
A bit of background history.

The tomb which is supposedly 600+ years old.

Now this is interesting.Supposedly almost 2000yrs old.
See , i said ''supposedly''.

Obligatory bike shot.

Reached home by noon.Towards the end of my ride i was getting
reports of mayhem down south. But once i got of the bike it all stopped.
I'm not convinced i've got the right inflation for the seat, but it was
a clear improvement over the stock seat.
I guess the ice will be in my drink afterall.
Cheers.
